How many books are there, and where do I start?
Circkool is planned as four books. Each one builds on the last, so start with book 1, Place Without Shadows; book 2, Light Without Breath, comes next.
When does book 1 come out?
Place Without Shadows comes out on 26 October 2026. You will find the store links in the section about the book.
When does book 2 come out?
Light Without Breath is in preparation. There is no date yet: book 2 comes out when it is finished.
Is there an English edition?
Yes: Place Without Shadows comes out on 26 October 2026, on the same day as the German edition, as a paperback and an e-book.
What age is the book for?
Circkool is written for readers aged 14 and up, teens and adults alike. You can find the topics the book deals with in the content notes.
What kind of book is Circkool, and who is it for?
Dark fantasy set in Bonn: a circus on the banks of the Rhine, the full moon, people with abilities that have no names outside. If you like dark, atmospheric stories about belonging, friendship and what they cost, you are in the right place.
Does book 1 stand on its own, or does it end on a cliffhanger?
Book 1 tells its story through to its own climax and closes with an epilogue. Some threads stay open and lead on into book 2.

Can I read a sample first?
Yes. The excerpt, with the prologue and the first four chapters, is free to read here on the website.
